Remember all of my goals and projects for 2014? Well, I thought I would give you a bit of an update but first things first… a report on a total flopped ambition.
Handstand 365… do you remember far back to the summer months when I first said I was going to partake in the handstand a day challenge? At day 30 I had hurt my ankle and started doing modified handstands. After my 46th handstand I called it quits. Between re-injuring my ankle and arranging for someone to take a daily picture of me, the challenge had become too much. It was fun while it lasted though!
On to the updates on my plans for 2014:
Make a baby clothes quilt for my oldest daughter.
I have been researching how to do this (which for me, is progress).
Recover my ottoman.
Done! If you didn’t see the finished product, you can check it out HERE
Make a honeymoon photo album.
Done! I just completed this one and I am so excited. I still need to type up the daily events to slot into the album (maybe that will be on next year’s to do list). After seven years, we can finally open up an album and enjoy pictures from our honeymoon on the island of Kauai!
I mean, to think that beautiful pictures like these were stashed away in a box. Memories of a zip line tour, and horseback riding on the beach can be revisited at any point in time.
Clean my body.
I’ve made quite a few adjustments to my family’s eating habits. We are eating ‘cleaner’ foods and I have been experimenting with a few clean eating recipes as well. I started this journey of clean eating back in December and I have lost almost 5 lbs (with no added exercise element… don’t worry, that’s to come).
Make the ultimate schedule.
Done! It is a WONDERFUL schedule, except I don’t do very well with sticking to it. I thought I would give it 21 days of complete commitment and see if I can stick with it. If I can’t, then maybe it’s time to rethink and rework the schedule.
So what’s left to do?
Well, I still have to:
- Clean and organize my sewing room. *COUGH* I really don’t know if I’ll be able to do it. The place is a mess.
- Get to work on that baby clothes quilt.
- Sew more items for my Etsy shop. If I could stick to my ultimate schedule this would be possible!
- Compile annual photo albums/yearbooks of our family. I couldn’t bear to start working on this while I was assembling my Kauai photo album. I hope that I’ll be able to focus on this now.
- Clean, purge, and organize. Isn’t that what spring is for?
How are your goals and projects for 2014 coming along?
I smiled at “productivity is at an all-time reasonable level.” You know, “reasonable” is really quite good enough on most day! You’re doing great!
Now I totally want to go do a handstand.
I think you’ve done an excellent job so far! The honeymoon photo album looks great. Such beautiful photos! I’ve kept up my workout routine so far for the year, so I’m happy about that!
You aren’t giving yourself enough credit. I’d say B+ at least :) Hey, I’ve gotten one project of my 12 done thus far, so I’d say I’m going strong at a C. :)
Love the photo album and excited to see the quilt for your daughter!!
xoxo
That’s more of a B+ heading towards an A to me. You always underestimate yourself. You’re doing a fantastic job. As for the handstand I wouldn’t even have attempted it but you did which makes you super mom or deliberate mom in my book. :) Hope you’re having a great week!
Your to-do list is being executed quite nicely! I should get around to making one, there are a lot of things I need to-do but havent’ made a priority enough to list them out. Like Dylan’s baby album. I still love the work you did with the ottoman btw!
I think you are doing a great job, Jennifer! Keep pressing forward–I’ve found that with things like resolutions (new year’s) I work well by giving myself till the END of the year to get into the groove with my changes. Otherwise, I feel like I’ve failed if I don’t keep up from day one. Good work, gal!
Your handstand challenge was totally awesome! I think you did great! You’ve got some great goals you’re working on. I regret having never gone to Kauai when I lived on O’ahu! :)
Omg, we’re so alike lol. This post cracked me up only cause I can relate so much. But dang you’re doing really good to have all of that done and it’s only March! I also need to purge. My bedroom closet is overwhelming and it makes me instantly just want to look at my phone to distract myself from all the work I need to do. Good luck with marking everything off your list!
I think you are being too hard on yourself..you are doing just fine!!!
xo,
Janise
