Before I start, I have to take a moment to address everyone who responded my post: When You Stop Breathing, You Die. Thank you to everyone who rallied around us, supported us, and held us up in prayer as we completed my daughter’s dairy allergy challenge test. It was a long and emotional morning. Here is a brief 3 minute video about the details of what happened in the dairy challenge.
The results of her test were inconclusive… which means we will have to repeat the test sometime within the next year. We are praying for the perfect timing as to when we should take the test again. It’s been quite a journey and we sincerely appreciate the support we’ve been shown along the way.
Now to share {these moments} from September….
These moments are fleeting, these moments are mine,
These moments are glimpses, snapshots in time.
I wish to breathe them, to drink them all in.
These moments are where my memories begin.
~ The Deliberate Mom ~
It’s the last Friday of September, I know… I’m as shocked as you. Of course this means it’s time to share a collection of my favourite moments from the month. There were so many memories made in the past month but here are the ones which I’m most excited to share with you today.
Back-to-Homeschool
Pond Dipping
Blirthday Bash
Last Lake Trip Of The Season
Nice Day = Family Photo Shoot
Round Carrots? Cool!
What an awesome month full of memorable moments! Wishing you a lovely weekend!
Looked like a great month – still can’t believe September is almost over! But still wish you had more answers from the dairy challenge and got my fingers crossed that you will in the future now. Have a wonderful weekend! ;)
I’m stunned that September is almost over! Where did the time go?
I wish we had more answers too. I’m disappointed we have to go through the whole process again but at least my daughter had no respiratory distress. That, to me, is a great sign!
Wishing you a lovely weekend as well.
It’s all moving so fast! We spent a lot of September fighting viruses, which sucked! So here’s to an awesome October!
I know! I’m stunned September is almost over. I want that “lost time back”! LOL
Have an awesome weekend. Hopefully everyone is feeling better and can enjoy it.
I’m sorry you didn’t get more answers from the dairy challenge. Hopefully, the results will be good news next time! The picture of your daughter going back to school looks so much like you! :)
She does look like me. I should dig up some of my old photos and do a side-by-side comparison.
We were disappointed we didn’t get more answers. Hopefully next time.
Aww, I’m sorry that the tests were inconclusive but I will keep praying it all works out in the end. Are those really round carrots? I’ve never seen those!
I thought I had made a gardening error when those carrots came up. However, I checked the seed package and noticed that I indeed bought a round carrot variety.
Thanks for your continued prayers and support over my daughter’s dairy allergy.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
Look at that pretty lady in the video! Great job Jennifer!
I am glad the test went well (no stopping breathing), but what a bummer to have vomiting and then inconclusive results. So sorry you and your daughter have to go through this again in a year’s time. Yuck!
I cannot believe September is almost over and that we are only about 10 weeks away from Christmas. crazy!
Such lovely pictures, you have an adorable family!
Awww, I’m blushing Jen! I was my first I’m speaking into the camera and video taping blog – it was so weird but it was fast in comparison to if I had typed that whole thing out!
We’re hoping to retake the test in February. Praying it goes better.
Looks like a fun month!! Prayers for you with the food allergy test. We do blood testing once a year for my daughters allergies as well as skin testing. Her yeast allergy test is inconclusive each year, but we know if she eats it she gets sick. Not anaphalayctic (sp?) sick, but issues none the less. Keep us updated!!
Yeast would be a challenging allergy to deal with as well. Even if we could determine that my daughter is no longer anaphylactic, that would be such a relief!
Thanks for your continued prayers and support Misty.
Where has September gone? Thanks for sharing these so I can catch up.
Didn’t the month go by so fast?! I’m in shock!
Now I know what you sound like (hard to tell in the ice bucket challenge video)! Loved hearing your voice!! It sounds like things are moving in the right direction for little miss, so that’s good. Continuing to pray that the next go round is a success.
Great moments this month. Love her back to school photo. And the round carrots kills me, ha!
Have a fabulous weekend!
xoxo
Yes… now you know what I sound like (when I’m serious)! You should hear me when I’m bubbly and energetic…. no you shouldn’t. LOL
Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
I loved her back to school photo too.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
I had hoped you were going to say that after consuming all that milk without reaction (besides the vomiting) meant you were on the home stretch. Sorry to hear about that. The day my son “grew out” of his egg allergy was the best thing. It took me a long time to throw out the epi-pen though. Thank you for your kind comments on my SITS feature day. Love lots xoxo
I think the testing does indicate a good sign that she’s growing out of it. I can’t imagine a day without epi-pens… wow, it would be amazing.
Congrats once again on your SITS day. I don’t feel like mine will ever come. I go through bouts of commenting every day on other SITS features and then life happens and I forget, so I think I slip to the bottom of the list. Oh well, I still love it. I’ve met some awesome bloggers through these. In fact, I’m pretty sure we met through SITS.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
Lovely photos! I cannot believe that October begins next week!
I’m not ready for October. I’m not ready for winter. Something tells me it’s just around the corner.
Have a great weekend my friend!
The back to school photo is so cute!! I’m sorry you didn’t get an answers from the allergy test, but I am glad it looks promising :) what a super brave girl and awesome parents for helping her through it. Have a great weekend!!
I loved that back-to-school photo. I’m so glad I remembered to take it on her first day of homeschool!
I think the results of her dairy allergy test does look promising. In a few months we’ll try again.
Wishing you a lovely weekend as well!
I can’t believe September is over already it seemed like the year just started. I was praying that everything worked out well at your appointment but inconclusive is better than hearing bad news. I’ll be praying for success the next time you do go. I love the photos and round carrots? I don’t think I’ve ever seen those before. Here’s to a great weekend my friend.
Where did the month of September go?!
Although disappointed that the results were inconclusive, we have some relief that at least it didn’t go poorly.
The round carrots stunned me but I double checked the seed packet and I guess that’s what we planted! They’re meant for container gardening because they take up less space.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
First, I’m sorry about the tests, medical issues are so tough to deal with. But I’m glad you had such an amazing month….looks like a lovely time of year for you!
We were disappointed in the results but inconclusive is better that realizing she’s still full-out anaphylactic.
It was a lovely month… I just don’t know where the time went!
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
xoxo
I’m so sorry for the inconclusive results. Now I’m definitely no doctor (or close to it) but wouldn’t ANY kid on an empty stomach who hasn’t had milk in years.. or ever.. wouldn’t that reaction be totally normal? If her stomach isn’t used to dairy and then to have it all on an empty stomach..
Well let’s just say it sounds positive! Drinking milk after a known life-threatening dairy allergy. That’s intense stuff. Tell her she’s BRAVE.
The inconclusive results were so disappointing but she was a brave little girl. I agree Tamara – that much milk for someone who’s never had it before… I would think it would make them feel sick. However, the fact that she had no respiratory distress is HUGE! We’ll probably repeat the test in February… not fun, but necessary.
Oh wow, inconclusive? I’ll have to come back and listen to your video when I have my headphones, to see what you said. I am in shock that September is pretty much over too! I feel like I was just saying good-bye sweet summer. Love your photos. Your girls are precious. And Happy Belated Blirthday! That was cute!
Thanks Dee. Yes, we were disappointed. We’ll have to go through the challenge testing again… ugh.
I’m sad to say goodbye to summer but I love fall!
Wishing you a lovely day.
I hate that the results were inconclusive, but also happy that there is hope!! I agree with what Tamara said above! I hope you find answers in February. I also loved hearing your voice, that was very cool :)
Lovely photos, and those carrots are so funny!! Hope you guys have a great Monday!
We were so disappointed but I’m encouraged in thinking that perhaps she’s no longer anaphylactic!
The round carrots were bizarre but that’s totally the way they were supposed to be (next time I’ll look at my seed packets a little better). I guess these round carrots are meant for container gardens.
Now you know what I sound like…. Nothing spectacular, just good old-fashioned Canadiana! LOL
I love your photographs, that one of the last trip to the lake and of the round carrots are my favs….I never knew there as such a thing as round carrots, so I have learned something new today.
It is such a shame that your daughters test results were inconclusive, you were so close, after three hours I bet your heart was in your mouth! Lets hope that your daughters vomiting was bought on by the fact that she wasn’t used to drinking so much chocolate milk and not by any allergic reaction. Fingers crossed for next time!
The round carrots are meant for container gardening. It was a shock though… I had forgotten I planted round instead of regular… you can imagine my surprise when I pulled them up.
I was disappointed in the challenge test results. Hopefully we’ll get our answers in the new year.
The round carrots really are awesome- I’m impressed! The pond fishing is also VERY cool! I hope the testing session goes well. Is there a specific timeframe for how long she has to wait to take it again?
I had forgotten I had planted the round carrots so they were a huge surprise!
We’re going to retry the test in February. He said we could take it whenever we would like but we want to give her a little bit more time to perhaps grow out of it a bit more?!
I feel like the whole year has been so fleeting
You’re right Briton! This year has flown by. I’m in denial that summer is actually over.
Thanks for stopping by.
I am sorry to hear the allergy tests were inconclusive. The photographs of the girls are absolutely beautiful. The leaves are turning quickly in Michigan and the temperatures are falling at a rapid rate. Where did the summer go? But it’s those wonderful memories that will always live on….
We were disappointed that we didn’t get more answers at the allergy tests but praying next time we’ll have some concise answers.
You’re right… where did the summer go?!
It’s awful that you have to go through it all again (if you choose to), but I am so glad to hear she’s was able to drink so much and not have any respiratory issues! Beautiful fall pictures. I hope you’re enjoying homeschool!
Yes, we’ll be going through this whole thing again sometime in February but it is a positive sign that she’s had no respiratory distress. We’ve had a fabulous start to this homeschooling year. I have a couple posts in the works to share what we we’ve been up to.
