A Friday ritual. A single photo, no words, capturing a moment from the week. Sorry, but I have to break the rules this week because without the story, this photo simply looks like a poor quality photo of a sleepy kid… but this is my moment.
“Mommy I want to watch the sun rise.”
Upon asking why, she responded by saying:
“All the colours remind me it’s going to be a beautiful day.”
I was so thankful that my five-year-old daughter not only got me to slow down and enjoy a sunrise but also prompted me to savour the prospects of a new day.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend full of amazing moments!
Wow Jennifer, she’s like a little angel isn’t she? Beautiful moment, thanks for explaining it.
Beautiful…..you have a nice weekend too!
How beautiful! I’m so glad you included the words. :-)
That is the sweetest thing ever! This really made me smile :) Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
It’s totally valid to break the rules! Loved the morning sunset story!
Glad you broke the rules :-)
Isn’t amazing how children can make us stop, slow down, and appreciate moments in our days that we’d otherwise miss?!
Beautiful story and photo! Have a wonderful weekend!
Such a special girl making life so much fun to live. She’s the sunshine!
Oh Jennifer! I am so glad you broke the rules…what a sweet little one you have here. She would remind me of the good day to come too. Give her a hug for me :)

Love this! Kids always have a way of putting life into perspective, don’t they?! Our moment this week comes from putting out some Halloween decorations. Clearly, my girls have grown up with everything being photographed as my oldest ran to get her camera to take a picture “just like mama!”
Such a sweet photo :)
Great story – thanks for sharing! Our moment – stacking cat food cans instead of blocks!:
So beautiful ! I love this picture and the story. Thank you !
So precious!
oh how precious that she appreciates and recognizes that! my boys, even after my attempts, still don’t care about the glorious rays through our windows….but they’re boys, hehe.
