If you are still looking for a special gift for someone this holiday season, maybe you would consider giving them a Hope-Knot? The Hope-Knot is a beautiful creation from the Women’s Brain Health Initiative (WBHI) and designed by Canadian jeweler Mark Lash.
As many of you know, my paternal grandmother has suffered from several strokes and now has Alzheimer’s. It has been a rough and emotional journey for our family as we have helplessly watched my grandmother’s mental health deteriorate.
Disclosure: I received a sample of this product for the purpose of this posting. Statistics used in this posting were obtained from the Women’s Brain Health Initiative. All opinions on this blog are my own.
Did you know
- Women are twice as likely as men to be affected by brain diseases such as dementia, stroke, and depression as they age.
- The Women’s Brain Health Initiative is a Canadian charity working to raise funds to enhance research and improve outcomes for women everywhere.
- 70% of all Alzheimer’s sufferers are women.
- The Women’s Brain Health Initiative has a wonderful and informative website which can be accessed {HERE}.
- The Women’s Brain Health Initiative is on Twitter. Follow the handle @womensbrains
The Hope-Knot is a stunning piece of jewelry and is a loose visual likeness of the brain.
When I first saw it, I was taken by its beauty and complexity. It is available in stainless steel as a pin and in sterling silver as pins, pendants, and cufflinks.
Hope-Knots can be purchased online through http://hopeknot.myshopify.com/ and 100% of the proceeds from your purchase (after expenses) goes to combating women’s brain aging disorders.
This is a wonderful gift for anyone in your life and it is a gift that gives twice (a beautiful piece of jewellry and funding to support research). Aren’t those the best kinds of gifts? I encourage you to visit the Hope-Knot Shop and purchase a Hope-Knot today.
I’m thrilled to be able to give away ONE Hope-Knot pin to TWO fortunate individuals. Just enter the giveaway through the Rafflecopter form below. This contest is open to Canadian residents only.

Thanks for raising attention for this important issue once again Jennifer. My grandmother had dementia, which led to complications in diagnosing other medical issues she was dealing with. Depression is also common in our family – particularly for the women. We must remember to take care of our bodies and our minds.
Thank you for commenting Katie. It’s definitely a topic that affects a lot of women. I appreciate you sharing your personal experience with it.
