Oh how I love Christmas music! There are so many great songs that fill me with joy and nostalgia. This festive season wouldn’t be the same without my favourite tunes, but then there’s the songs that I can’t stand! This posting is all about the Christmas songs that DRIVE ME CRAZY!

This is some of the worst Christmas music EVER! Would you agree?! Click To Tweet

I Want You For Christmas – Cheap Trick

Did you ever see the movie Love Actually? This song reminds me of the story line of Billy Mack, who in a last ditch effort to salvage his dying career as a musician, remakes one of his own hits into a Christmas song. Cheap Trick did the same thing… and the result is a sad, pathetic, effort. Why not just write a Christmas song or do a classic? Why, why, why?

Last Christmas – All Versions

It doesn’t matter which artist performs this song, I can’t stand it. It is overplayed and so very, very, boring.

Step Into Christmas – Elton John

Happy, upbeat and annoying. This song does nothing for me. Oh Elton, I can’t step into Christmas when I hear this song.

All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth – All Versions

This song is obnoxious and annoying. That whistling sound with the teeth is not endearing, it’s grating. Enough said.

Do They Know It’s Christmas – Band-Aid

I love the fact that this song was created as a fundraising effort. I also love that this song is star-studded with some of my favourite 80’s musicians. I should love it, but I don’t… all because of the lyrics.

“And there won’t be snow in Africa this Christmas time….”

Does it usually snow in Africa at Christmas time? I think not. This lyric bugs me so much that I just can’t listen to it without getting frustrated. Who wrote that lyric… and what were they thinking?!

So, that’s my list of annoying Christmas songs. Do you have any Christmas music that you can’t stand? If so, I would love to hear what songs drive you crazy.
