I frequently bring reusable shopping bags with me when I go shopping. However, sometimes (just sometimes) I forget to bring my bags to the store and hence, have to succumb to the dreaded plastic bag. Then, sometimes (just sometimes) those bags start to pile up and I don’t know how to store them.
Enter Pinterest. Combine that with sewing (my recent coping mechanism of dealing with the current crisis and anxiety of my life) and I’ve got the perfect recipe for creative distraction. After scouring the pin boards on Pinterest, I found the best instructions to make my own plastic bag holder/dispenser.
With a bin of overflowing scrap fabric, I knew I would find something that would be classy and fit in with my decor. But then enter the whimsical side of me. How cute would it be to use my leftover Saggy Baggy Elephant fabric on this little creation? So I did… and it turned out perfect!
There’s elastic along the top and at the bottom openings. It holds a whole load of plastic bags… and I love it!
If you’re interested in making your own plastic bag “dispenser” the instructions can be found at the blog site: Make It and Love It.
I love your bag dispenser! It turned out great. What a great way to save bags to re-use.
Thanks! I’m so happy with how it turned out!
I love the Saggy Baggy Elephant! I’ve made bag holders for family members, but I don’t have one for myself. I may have to fix that! I’m your newest follower too!
Isn’t the Saggy Baggy Elephant so sweet?! Thanks for the follow – truly appreciated!
I needed one of these several years ago. Like you, I wanted fabric I liked. So, I used the strip of fabric that was leftover from making napkins. The two are very helpful when I accidentally have to bring home plastic bags.
Thanks for the comment on my blog!
They’re so great for those random plastic bags that stack up! Thanks for visiting!
