Today is my wedding anniversary. Seven years. It’s almost hard to believe. In some ways those seven years seem so long yet in other ways, it feels like it’s gone by in an instant.
I love to reflect on our wedding day….
How I started the day with a huge smoothie and a pampering of epic proportions at the salon.
Making soup for my Maid of Honour before we headed to the service.
Waiting for what seemed like an eternity for the wedding to start.
Walking into the hall and seeing my groom.
Doing everything I could to keep from singing along to Eva Cassidy’s version of Songbird as I walked up the aisle to my groom.
Stepping on the hem of my dress while climbing up the stairs to the stage. Fortunately I was able to get up there without too much of a disaster.
Standing within arms reach of my groom and looking into his eyes….
However, the most memorable moment is when my dear groom surprised me with a song as part of his wedding vows.
Little Friend

Hey Little Friend
The Northern Lights are dancing bright, up above our heads,
And I’ve never been so sure of anything
Like I’m sure of what I just said…
I love you, my little friend.
I love you, my little Jen.
I love you, my best little friend.
Hey Little Friend,
The stars are out shining across the open sky,
There’s a lot to see and do,
So much ahead for you and I…
And I love you, my little friend.
I love you, my little Jen.
I love you, my best little friend.
Hey Little Friend,
The rain is coming down, hard out there tonight.
It can’t be sunny every day,
But every day I’m with you, everything’s alright…
I love you, my little friend.
I love you, my little Jen.
I love you, my best little friend.
My husband… he is always full of surprises. Seven years ago I married my best friend and every day just keeps on getting better. Happy Anniversary Sweetheart!

Hi Jennifer! Oh my goodness, how did you stand there and not melt into a puddle? Maybe knowing the glasses were coming? That pic of you and your husband with the red (3D?) glasses is just hysterical!
Your husband is such a special guy, no wonder you fell in love. Thank you for sharing such a sweet memory. And he’s a lucky guy too. He’s married to a ‘deliberate Mom’!
Blessings,
Ceil

I always get teary at weddings, especially if there’s a special, individualized song or vows, but I didn’t expect to feel all verklempt just from *reading* these lyrics. That’s just precious…
Hope you had a great anniversary!
