Last Week’s Strategy
Last week’s strategy was to eat more vegetables. I didn’t get a chance to try a new vegetable this week but I did increase the amount of vegetables I ate on a daily basis. The easiest strategy was to have a daily salad with supper. I was also successful at packing and eating little snack packs of veggies.
A special thank you to DP for the suggestion to make stir frys. I’m including that strategy in my upcoming meal plans.
This Week’s Strategy
As I shared last week, I have been struggling with Antepartum Depression. This week’s strategy is tailored to help me cope with the emotions I’ve been feeling over the past few weeks.
Today, I am going to start a Joy Journal. Every day I will reflect and record a joyful moment from the day… something that made me smile or laugh. I want to find joy again but lately it takes some effort. A journal may help me remember the joyful moments on days when happy times are few and far in-between.
Do you reflect on your days? What do you do to find joy? As always, I welcome your comments and suggestions. In the meantime, I would like to wish you a wonderful week.
This is such a beautiful idea!! I join in a ‘grateful’ linky at Maxabella loves on saturdays where we reflect on things from that week that we are grateful for – it is such a positive way to end the week, and such a great way to stop and refelct on the good things – since it is always much easier to focus on the negative.
I hope you are feeling more joyful this week :-)

Stir-frys are an excellent way to eat lots of veggies. A joy journal is one of the best ways I know to make you feel better about whatever you are going through. Also, you can pray and thank God for the many blessings He has given you. Being intentional about being thankful and joyful soon becomes a habit.
It’s funny, I wrote this post before I became Christian and now looking at it, I think my joy has shifted so much because I have the Lord in my life. Before I had to look really hard to find and savour joy but now I can find it everywhere and in so many things.
Thanks for sharing your insights Heather.
What a wonderful testimony to the peace of Christ! I am so thankful that you became a Christian. Praise God!
Honestly most days lately I just try to get enough sleep to get through the next day. I am too tired to reflect and yet can’t sleep. Actually I seem to reflect on that quite a bit.
