Our household has a lot of electronic gadgets. When my husband started his new job back in September, he was given a handheld electronic device and a cell phone. Add these to our existing two cell phones and his iPod and suddenly there were not enough plugins in the kitchen. Actually, there were enough plugins in the kitchen but I didn’t want my counters cluttered with all these devices.

So here’s what I did to solve this problem:

I emptied my IKEA MOPPE drawer system of all it’s pencils, pens, and miscellaneous goodies.

I drilled a large hole in the back wood panel of the system and threaded the cords of each device through to each of their respective drawers. All of the devices are plugged into a small power bar behind the system and voila! Grand Central charging station.

I was thinking of painting it but so far I’m happy with the neutral wood look.
